Chinese Fire Drill Part I

Is that title politically correct?  Can we still call it a Chinese Fire Drill?  Regardless, that's what happened in our house recently, and it happened without proper planning.
Here's the run down:
Tot was given the choice to stay in her room or move to the spare "green" bedroom (where you might remember she camped out in for months and more months and more months not long ago).  Despite my feelings about it, she opted to go into the "green room" (equals more work for me).  Consequently, Bean would go into Tot's old room and Bean's room would return to the nursery for the baby.
The plan was to order Tot a queen size comforter and leave the room pretty much intact, minus the cedar chest and adding a dresser.
Then, Bee found a loft bed on Craigslist.
After MUCH hemming and hawing between both of us, we took the leap and made the purchase (which was not planned).  We also got a new mattress and a chair for the desk.
Because I can no longer lift much of anything (including Bean), I suggested that Bee just get the set up over with and get the queen bed out of the spare bedroom since he had the help on the particular day he bought the bed.
The girls and I went to see a play (Snow White) and when we returned?  A completely installed loft bed.
Guess what happened next?
Yep, the little booger wanted to move in IMMEDIATELY.
(And did I mention that the new comforter was no longer going to fit the new bed?)

And before my eyes, the doors fly open and everyone begins to run around the car.

To be continued....

I want to see pictures!!!

My dad built my college roommate and I loft beds when we were in college and I thought they were the coolest thing ever.

All I can think about is the time my mom, sisters, and I did a Chinese Fire Drill while waiting for an incredibly long drive-through ATM transaction in front of us. Of course, it was a company car, one of us didn't have a license...leading to 3 drills, LOL.

I hope everyone is getting settled in to their new spaces!

Of course she would need to move right away. Me too. That sounds quite awesome.

Wow...guess she's not one to settle, huh? We're having a bit of the Fire Drill Disease around here too...now all we need is a new mattress and we'll be running from room to room as well...sigh.

Exciting and shitty, right?
