Friday Night Leftovers: The Snow Days Edition

  • The kids (and I) finally had a snow day yesterday.  We got a whooping half inch to an inch of snow. Ridiculous.
  • I love snow days.  I really love snow days.  I just don't love snow days when the kids have already been home for five days the previous week and I have a ton of work to do because I'm already so behind.
  • Have I mentioned that dairy is back in my life!?!  Yes, it's true.  I'm still breastfeeding, so it's minimal, but I've been able to incorporate cooked cheese and most cooked dairy back into my day to day meals.  It's really nice not to have to overthink every meal.  I have to admit though, I don't enjoy it as much as I used to.  *gasp*
  • Speaking of dairy, Blue's first year appointment is in the next week or two and we'll be having some dairy conversations.
  • This week Bee and I took on the challenge of turning all of the hangers in our closet around on the rod to start a decluttering process.  The idea is to turn each article of clothing (hanger) around after it is worn and after a year, whatever hasn't been turned (worn) is taken out and donated.  The theory is you wear 20% of your clothes 80% of the time.  We shall see.
  • Does anyone else find it incredibly annoying that Easter stuff is already out in the stores?

have to point out that i think your 4th bullet should refer to Blue right?

I personally had a dairy issue for several years. like projectile vomit type issue. when pregnant with K i craved it like crazy and finally said screw it. no issue. and never has it returned (knocks wood). but like you i wasn't in love with it the way i once was. i am now though. it took a little while and the love affair returned.

I did the hanger thing last year...it worked really well!!

And yes, I was at Costco this week and noticed the Easter stuff and it actually made me a little angry!

I am I'm a mood right now to throw out 80% of my clothes anyway! The hanger thing sounds like a good idea.

Love the hanger idea. I may have to try that. Of course, I still have trouble getting rid of things even when I don't wear them...I always give myself that "but I might need it (them) someday" speech and I can't let whatever go.

i do the hanger thing - it keeps me accountable for what i wear (i do wear a lot of my clothes, though...or maybe i wear a lot of htem now because i pay attention more!). it's kind of fun for me to make outfits of those less-worn things. i am a dork.

I did the hanger thing for Matt last year. He wore almost everything in the front half of his closet and almost nothing from the back half.

Yay, CHEESE!
